It was an early 6:30am start for the 220 mile drive up to Edinburgh.
I have been to quite a few grounds in Scotland (Dundee United, Aberdeen, Celtic, Rangers and more) – but never to Murrayfield.
I’m not sure why Murrayfield has been chosen as the venue, or the strange 2pm kick-off time on a Wednesday, but a crowd of over 40,000 is more than I expected.

Erik ten Hag named a similar team to the one that started in Oslo against Leeds, and he made yet another 11 changes at half-time.
I thought Kobbie Mainoo played well again.
In the second half, I was really pleased to see Jonny Evans back in a Red shirt.
It was a great goal by Donny van de Beek to seal another pre-season win.
Then it was time to face a long drive back through the very picturesque Scotland and then the Lake District.
And, once I arrived home, it was time to check-in for my flights tomorrow… Manchester to Dublin and Dublin to New York.
I can’t wait!
