Alex Telles attracts interest from Al-Nassr despite transfer ban

The same Saudi Arabian club that signed Cristiano Ronaldo are keen on signing Manchester United left-back Alex Telles.

Telles, 30, is one of the players Erik ten Hag is eager to offload this summer.

The Brazil international has at least two – maybe even three — left-backs ahead of him in the pecking order at Old Trafford. That is why he was sent on loan to Sevilla last season but it doesn’t look like the La Liga side want him back.

Furthermore, any money recouped for Telles should give Ten Hag more leeway to spend in the transfer window.

Telles has been linked to a number of clubs including Galatasaray, Benfica and his former club FC Porto. It is understood that he doesn’t fancy a move to Benfica because of his Porto connections.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail suggests that Telles is a genuine target for Al-Nassr.

The Saudis are pumping serious money into the sport as they attempt to lure some of Europe’s stars to their domestic league. We’ve already seen Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly move there but more are expected to follow.

Chris Wheeler reports: “Al-Nassr want to reunite the Brazil left-back, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla, with his former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Al-Nassr are currently banned from registering new players by FIFA over an outstanding payment of £390,000 owing to Leicester City, but the dispute is expected to be resolved and the ban lifted.”

Telles is deemed surplus to requirements at United and he should be moved on this summer.
