Manchester United put off by valuations of two goalkeepers, including Diogo Costa

Manchester United are working on a deal to bring Andre Onana from Inter Milan to Manchester United.

Talks took a major step forward this week and it now sounds like both clubs believe a positive outcome is achievable.

It means Erik ten Hag could get his first choice option in the market for a new goalkeeper, and we believe Onana would be a transformative addition to the team. Furthermore, United are also being strongly linked with J-League keeper Zion Suzuki as a potential back-up option next season.

However, there was a feeling earlier this summer that we would be in the market for other keepers. FC Porto’s Diogo Costa was on the club’s radar and Brentford’s David Raya is highly thought of.

According to The Mirror, United had considered Costa and Raya, but they were put off by their hefty valuations.

Brenford wanted £40m for Raya, while Porto value Costa at around £64m.

David de Gea’s contract expired last week and it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football next season.

Meanwhile, multiple factors are being discussed with Onana’s entourage as well as Inter Milan. In turn, it’s understood the Cameroon international is on the verge of joining the Reds and we are very excited by that.

United announced their first signing of the summer this week when Mason Mount completed his switch from Chelsea in a deal worth £55m plus £5m in performance-related add-ons.
