Manchester United-linked Declan Rice is preparing for a move to Arsenal.

Despite links between the midfielder and the Red Devils, the club failed to even kickstart their pursuit by joining the bidding war with Arsenal and Manchester City.

Speculation largely suggested that United were preparing a player-plus-cash proposal, with Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Anthony Elanga among the Reds considered to be utilised.

However, Rice is now seemingly on his way to the Emirates. City ended their interest after the Gunners’ latest offer of £100 million + £5m in add-ons, and West Ham United have now reached an agreement that sees their academy graduate leave the club after nine years.

The deal will make the 24-year-old the most expensive British player in history, as confirmed by Daily Mail.

United are still pushing to sign Mason Mount and Chelsea are also open to negotiating further to try and agree on a fee for the England international.
