Manchester United look set to fail in pursuit of Adrien Rabiot for a second successive summer.
It was confirmed over the weekend that the Red Devils had reignited their interest in the France international and had made contacts with his entourage, as per The Athletic.
Rabiot’s contract expires in four days, which presented a golden opportunity for Erik ten Hag to acquire his midfield target as a free agent, as he looks to bolster his squad for the second campaign of his tenure.
However, fresh reports this morning have suggested that the 28-year-old has opted to stay with Juventus until 2024.
Rabiot to stay in Turin
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Rabiot will put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension this Wednesday, June 28.
Both parties held in-depth negotiations, with the player ultimately deciding to continue his career in Turin for the forthcoming season and revive the key role he plays under Massimiliano Allegri.
The Serie A outfit reportedly proposed a yearly salary of around €7 million.
