Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Benfica starlet Goncalo Ramos, with agent Jorge Mendes actively pushing for the player’s transfer.
That’s according to The Sun, which confirms that Mendes is hoping to create a bidding war between Premier League clubs for the 21-year-old striker.
Along with the Red Devils, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and West Ham United have been approached regarding Ramos’ availability.
United recently ended their pursuit of Harry Kane due to Spurs’ reluctance to sell, so the board are now actively scouring the market for a prolific No.9 to fill the void up front.
Ramos: proven and prolific
Last season, Ramos contributed an impressive 27 goals and 12 assists across 47 appearances, playing a pivotal role in making Benfica Primeira Liga champions again.
He received plaudits following his World Cup debut back in December 2022, when he netted a hat-trick on his first appearance at the tournament in Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence.
The report adds that the forward is valued at around £80 million and his club will not accept anything below that figure.
