Jorge Mendes is trying to engineer a move for Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos.

The renowned football agent will be aware of Manchester United’s struggles to land Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer, so we can fully expect him to offer the Portuguese forward as an option.

Ramos was responsible for taking over from Darwin Nunez at Benfica, and he scored 25 goals this term for club and country.

The 21-year-old made a name for himself at the World Cup when he replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting line-up before scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland in the round of 16.

According to The Mirror, Benfica want £80m plus add-ons to flog their goalscorer, with United being one of the clubs in the conversation.

The report also states that United have been monitoring Victor Osimhen’s progress at Napoli, but the Serie A champions will only sell the Nigerian for a huge fee.

Also on United’s radar are Rasmus Hojlund and Randal Kolo Muani.

Manchester United’s takeover could have a big say on who Erik ten Hag targets as his new striker.
