Ten Hag outlines three ambitious demands from United board ahead of summer transfer window

Erik ten Hag is laying down the law at Manchester United ahead of a pivotal summer transfer window.

In the past, fans have been well aware that transfer windows under Glazer ownership are far from easy; lack of investment out of their pockets, the board failing to pursue the manager’s targets, acting idle until the closing stages etc.

In January, Ten Hag was told the only signings he would be granted were on a loan basis, hence the additions of Marcel Sabitzer, Wout Weghorst and Jack Butland.

Now, as the Americans continue to drag their heels and mull over a potential sale of England’s most successful club, Ten Hag is poised with the task of bolstering his squad for another crucial season of competing on all fronts.

Though next term, United will be rubbing shoulders with Europe’s elite again in the Champions League, and with that, they must boast a team that is feared by the giants they could face.

Ten Hag’s demands

According to The Telegraph, Ten Hag has asked the board to get transfer deals done early. Last summer, Casemiro signed three games into the season and Antony arrived around Deadline Day.

Seemingly, this has already come into play, as the club have reportedly agreed personal terms with wantaway Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, and have held talks over forwards Kolo Muani and Rasmus Hojlund.

The Dutchman has also demanded a new goalkeeper to provide competition for David de Gea and a high-quality No.9 to lead the line.

Harry Kane looks to be the priority target to resolve United’s goalscoring issues, as he rounds off yet another 30-goal Premier League campaign, in which he also became Tottenham Hotspur and England’s all-time top goalscorer.

Ten Hag wants the board to “show ambition” whilst pursuing the 29-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of next season.
