United mull over deals for Rasmus Hojlund and Kolo Muani in club talks

Manchester United have held talks over two young forward options to bring to Old Trafford this summer.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have shortlisted Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt and Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta, with the latter seen as the more likely option.

This is partly due to Frankfurt valuing Muani at around £68.7 million. He signed a five-year contract last year so the Bundesliga club are under no pressure to oversee his exit anytime soon.

A prolific, out-and-out striker is the priority for United in the forthcoming transfer window, which opens on June 14.

Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are seen as Erik ten Hag’s ideal signings, but the fee their clubs will demand may price United out of a deal.

Hojlund, 20, scored 15 goals in all competitions across the 2022/2023 campaign. He and Ten Hag have recently spoken through video calls, as per Manchester Evening News.

United planning for a busy summer

Director of Football John Murtough has reportedly accelerated dialogue regarding transfers ever since the Reds booked their Champions League spot with a third-placed Premier League finish, which is perhaps proven by the fact that the club have just agreed personal terms with midfield target Mason Mount.

  1. It’s good that they are exploring other options. The likelihood of Kane coming is very slim & negotiations may drag.
