Ashley Young sends cheeky tweet to Gary Neville after spoiling Liverpool’s top four chances

Ashley Young tagged Gary Neville in a cheeky tweet over the weekend as Manchester United got a massive boost in the race for top four.

With Liverpool breathing down our necks before the weekend fixtures kicked off in the Premier League, it was a welcome boost to see Aston Villa get a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Villa left-back Ashley Young, who spent nine years at Old Trafford, had a message for Neville on Twitter – in response to what the former United captain said about the top four race.

As seen below, Young tweeted: “Nothing like a plan coming together, OOPS.”

In the clip accompanying the tweet, Neville and Jamie Carragher discuss whether Liverpool could jump ahead of United in the top four.

United still have some work to do before securing Champions League football for next season. We need just a point from our remaining two matches, at home, against Chelsea and Fulham.

Jurgen Klopp was looking for more excuses after the draw with Villa. He told reporters (via BBC Sport): “The time wasting was… wow.

“We saw against Sevilla the ball boys left the country, Roma against Leverkusen, how long was the ball in play?

“Everybody’s doing it. We’ve seen in many games this season. Nothing to do with the result today.”
