Every man and his dog knows Manchester United will try to sign a new striker in the summer, but the current squad needs a lot more if we are to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The priority will be a new striker and the rest will depend on how much money Erik ten Hag has to spend in the transfer window. We have been told that the manager will need to sell players if he plans to outspend his transfer kitty.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have decided to sign a new midfielder in the summer, regardless of what happens with Marcel Sabitzer.

Sabitzer is currently on loan from Bayern Munich but has been ruled out of the remaining fixtures this season due to injury.

Romano wrote: “Priority remains the new striker but new midfielder is now also crucial part of Ten Hag plans for next season.”

After an impressive first season at the club, Ten Hag should get whatever he wants in the transfer window – but we know that isn’t possible for however long the Glazers remain at the club.

We can only hope that the Glazer family sell the club before the end of the season.
