Man United making ‘good progress’ in talks to renew top attacker’s contract

Manchester United are making ‘good progress’ in their efforts to tie Marcus Rashford down on a new contract.

That’s according to a recent report from the Telegraph, who claim talks with the England international are ‘heading in the right direction’.

Rashford, 25, has enjoyed a fantastic season so far. After scoring 29 goals in all competitions, it is clear that United’s number 10 is flourishing under Erik Ten Hag, and hope has been offered to the Dutchman that their working relationship can continue for several more years yet.

Rashford will be out of contract this time next year, and understandably eager to extend the attacker’s terms in order not to offload him this summer, United are believed to have been in talks over a new contract for quite some time.

And after reaching an agreement with Alejandro Garnacho and Luke Shaw recently, there is renewed hope that Rashford will follow in the pair’s footsteps and sign on the dotted line.

Fans will absolutely love hearing that one of their most prolific and undoubtedly this season’s most important players is edging closer to staying with the club for the foreseeable future.

In order for Ten Hag to really turn this club back into a driving force, he must have a solid foundation to build upon, and there is nothing more important than making sure his best players are totally committed to the club.
