Manchester United eye move for 21-year-old Monaco defender

Manchester United have been linked with a move for AS Monaco defender Vanderson.

According to RMC Sport in France, The Reds are positioning themselves to sign the talented 21-year-old, who plays at right-back.

It is also noted that United would need to use their ‘chequebook’ to sign the Brazilian, with his contract at Monaco running until the summer of 2027.

With Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future at United in the air, the Brazilian could be his replacement at Old Trafford next season – to compete with Diogo Dalot for a place in the team.

Vanderson has one goal and four assists to his name for Monaco this season and a lot of reports seem to suggest Ten Hag wants an attack-minded full-back in the summer transfer window.

Ten Hag signed a young full-back for the left flank in Tyrell Malacia last summer and he turned out to be a good addition for the squad.

Another right-back linked with a move to United is Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Ultimately, I’m happy to back Ten Hag will any decision he wants to make in the transfer window. He is the boss after all.
