Bayern Munich fans unfurl banner with anti-Glazer message

Bayern Munich fans called for the ‘autocrats’ of the Glazer family and Sheikh Mansour — owners of Manchester United and Man City — to leave football.

The future of Manchester United remains up in the air, with the Glazer family entertaining a sale process, which is now entering a third round of bids.

In turn, Bayern fans travelled to Manchester for their Champions League clash with City. And they made sure to share their own message regarding football governance.

The travelling fans unfurled a banner which read: “Glazers, Sheikh Mansour, All Autocrats Out. Football Belongs To The People.”

City fans at the Etihad responded by singing Mansour’s name, which was a symbolic moment that explains a lot in modern football right now.

Unfortunately for Bayern fans, it came on the night that their team suffered a 3-0 loss to City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

The Bavarians didn’t get the result they wanted but we appreciate their message nonetheless.
