Liverpool lead race for Manchester United linked Jude Bellingham

A number of top Premier League clubs are being linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham this summer, including Manchester United.

A new report from Football Insider claims that Liverpool are the frontrunners to sign the Bundesliga star.

Bellingham, 19, has also been linked with clubs like Real Madrid and Man City. He is expected to leave Dortmund at the end of the season, with the German club reportedly demanding a fee in excess of £130 million for Bellingham’s signature.

Considering United will be in the market for an elite centre-forward this summer, I don’t think we’ll be spending anywhere near £100m on a midfielder, but it generates clicks for these websites.

Furthermore, Football Insider believes Liverpool are willing to match the asking price for the player and it remains to be seen whether they can convince the midfielder to join them. Will he really want to join a side that might not be playing Champions League football next season?

This comes to my belief that Bellingham won’t be making any decisions just yet. He will focus on his football with Dortmund and try to win the Bundesliga title this season.

That would be a nice way to leave Germany.

Paul Parker urges United to avoid hefty transfer for Bellingham

Former Manchester United full-back Paul Parker thinks United should pursue Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha over England pair Declan Rice and Bellingham.

“Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes I want Palhinha at Man United,” Parker told MyBettingSites, as per The Express. “He is good.

“He is Fulham’s best signing in ages and he would be amazing at Man United.

“He has been consistent all season. He has so many qualities and he could even have played football back in the ’80s and ’90s and that says everything about how versatile he is.

“He is physical, he is a clean tackler, he distributes very well and he goes up and down as well. He is an all-round player but he is not an all-round average Joe he is all round amazing.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, he would improve Man United’s team; that’s for sure.

“I keep praising him but his presence is amazing and he has the same presence at Fulham as Casemiro does at Man United.

“Look at how Fulham performed without him when he was suspended. They were poor because they missed him and his presence.”

Parker is going against the grain here as Bellingham is one of the most sought-after players in world football.

Rice, on the other hand, could leave West Ham at the end of the season and we’ve been linked with him in the past, too.

Arsenal appear to be favourites to sign Rice.
