Marseille make decision on Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly’s future

It sounds like Manchester United will have a job on their hands to sell Eric Bailly this summer. The Ivorian defender has not made a strong impression during his time in Ligue 1 this season and he has unsurprisingly had issues with injuries.

According to a report in French newspaper L’Equipe, as cited by Get Football News France, Marseille are unlikely to sign Eric Bailly on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Bailly, 28, joined Marseille from United on a season-long loan deal last summer and has made 16 appearances this season.

The Ligue 1 outfit are not positioning themselves to make a deal permanent, so Bailly is set to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season — where it is safe to say he has no future.

The Ivory Coast international is too injury prone and rash to play at the highest level. He had potential in his early years at United but his development never materialised that way.

Now it looks like we could be stuck with him in the summer…
