Wout Weghorst’s agent addresses celebration amid Manchester United links

Wout Weghorst has been linked with a move to Manchester United and his celebration at the weekend raised a few eyebrows.

The Dutch striker appeared to say ‘bye’ to the Besiktas fans when he scored against Kisimpasa.

However, Weghorst’s agent Simon Cziommer has played down the striker’s apparent farewell to Besiktas fans following their 2-1 win.

Cziommer said, as per the Manchester Evening News: “Everything is fine. There is no problem. Wout just made a celebration.”

It’s perfectly normal for an agent to try downplay speculation – and, on another note, does anyone expect him to publicly say anything about a potential move until a deals is confirmed and set in stone.

Weghorst could give United something completely different in attack, forcing our opponents to be wary of the constant threat Weghorst poses in the air. The Dutch striker is also renowned for being a hard-working pressing monster.

The 30-year-old certainly fits Erik ten Hag’s profile of striker.

United will need to deal with Burnley, who sent Weghorst on loan to Besiktas after they were relegated to the Championship last season.

Let us know in the comments section if you think Weghorst will join United this month.
