Dutch striker Wout Weghorst appears to be on Manchester United’s radar as they try to sign a striker in January.
The links were initially reported today — via Foot Mercato — and they have since been backed up by the reliable Fabrizio Romano.
Romano claims Weghorst has given the green light to a loan move to Manchester United – but everything hangs on whatever decision Burnley and Besiktas make next.

Hopefully, Besiktas honour Weghorst’s wish to join one of the biggest clubs in the world because they have plenty of time to find a replacement before the transfer window shuts.
Weghorst’s desire to join United could have a big impact on this deal.
According to The Athletic, United have held ‘exploratory talks’ with Weghorst.
It looks like the Netherlands international could be the one to replace Cristiano Ronaldo for the remainder of the season, even though he only managed two goals for Burnley in the season they were relegated to the Championship.
That said, he has 10 goals for Besiktas and Holland this season.
Ultimately, I think Ten Hag is owed our trust in the transfer market. He bought very well in the summer and we have seen a huge improvement on the pitch.
