Erik ten Hag drops Marcus Rashford for disciplinary reasons ahead of Wolves clash

Marcus Rashford is a surprise name on the bench for Manchester United this afternoon as the Red Devils take on Wolves at Molineux.

Erik ten Hag decided to drop Marcus Rashford to the bench today for ‘internal disciplinary’ reasons. This means that Alejandro Garnacho joins Antony and Anthony Martial in attack.

The manager was asked about Rashford’s absence from the line-up and he gave a simple two word answer.

Ten Hag did not elaborate further on the issue.

Speaking to BT Sport, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag said: “Internal disciplinary. No [details]. Our rules. Now focus on the game. He is in very good form and no-one can play all the games.”

Some might question whether Ten Hag needed to go public with this information, but Rashford is 25-years-old and needs to face the consequences for whatever he did… It could be something minor like being late for training.

Minute applause for Pele

There will be a minute’s applause prior to kick-off at Molineux as the Premier League pays tribute to Brazil icon Pele.

Manchester United have two Brazilians in the starting line-up, so that will be a emotional moment for them.

Let’s hope they can get the job done on the pitch by taking all three points on their travels.
