Manchester United transfer dealings affected by club being for sale

It has been reported by multiple outlets that Manchester United’s transfer dealings with be affected by the Glazer family putting the club up for sale – as well as their reasons for doing so.

The money well is running dry and the Glazers have stripped all of the money they could from United during the 17-years of their ownership.

Manchester United signed a number of players in the summer and the Glazers are using that as an excuse for not strengthening Erik ten Hag’s squad midway through the season.

In a recent column for Caught Offside, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has discussed United’s potential transfer dealings in January.

“It’s almost impossible to say how much Manchester United will have to spend in the January transfer window, but the club is for sale so the Glazer won’t want to spend crazy money on players now.”

To be fair to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, he gave the same update days ago when appearing on NBC Sports.

Romano is simply relaying information from other reporters…

It comes as no surprise that the Glazers are blocking transfer activity to force Ten Hag into a loan move for a striker.

United have already missed out on Cody Gakpo due to their limited funding for January.
