Borussia Monchengladbach forward wants Manchester United transfer

Marcus Thuram is reportedly hoping to join Manchester United.

The Red Devils currently lack a focal point through the middle of attack and it remains to be seen if fellow Frenchman Anthony Martial can stay fit for the second half of the season.

Tuttomercatoweb are claiming that Borussia Monchengladbach are willing to sell Thuram in January for a minimum of £8.7million. He has bagged 13 goals and four assists in 17 games for the Bundesliga outfit this season, as per Transfermarkt.

They are understandably reluctant to let him leave as a free agent in the summer.

Thuram emerged as one to watch at the World Cup this winter and he possesses blistering pace as well as the ability to play in an array of attacking positions, making him a versatile option for Erik ten Hag, just like Netherlands star Cody Gakpo.

The 25-year-old managed two assists in his five World Cup appearances with France and bettered during the penalty shoot-out defeat in the final against Argentina.

Gakpo is another player being heavily linked with a move to United this winter. Let us know in the comments section which player you would prefer to see United sign.

United could also wait until the summer to sign Thuram on a Bosman. If he really wants to play for United, surely he can wait for a couple of months?
