Manchester United’s co-owner Avram Glazer met potential investors in Qatar

Manchester United’s co-owner, Avram Glazer, has met with potential investors for the club whilst in Qatar.

That is according to The Athletic, which confirmed the news last night. The American had held talks during his trip to Doha to watch the World Cup, though it has seemingly turned into more of a business trip.

United’s exclusive financial director, Raine Group, is hoping to oversee a full sale of the club in the first quarter of 2023 for a fee of around £6-7 billion.

Ten Hag’s comments on United sale

Earlier this week, Erik ten Hag addressed the ongoing speculation regarding a takeover and insisted it would positively impact the club, as they would have more investment and be able to compete with the top performers in the Premier League.

He also mentioned the recent form of Newcastle United, who have enjoyed an outstanding turnaround in results since being taken over by owners from the Middle East.

Given the reports coming from the club, it looks as though things may be moving quickly behind the scenes.
