Manchester United dealt blow in pursuit of World Cup star as club seek new striker

Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.

According to The Telegraph, the Portugal international is unlikely to leave his club in January. Benfica are more willing to allow their forward to leave at the end of the season.

United reportedly tracked the 21-year-old before the World Cup but failed to agree a deal, they are consequently still seeking a suitable forward to bolster the squad. If they want to now, he is going to come at a significantly higher fee due to his performances on the biggest stage, in which he netted a hat trick on his tournament debut.
