Facundo Pellistri returns to Manchester after World Cup exit

Facundo Pellistri is back in Manchester after Uruguay crashed out of the World Cup after failing to qualify for the knockout rounds.

The winger, who has yet to make his competitive debut for Manchester United, shared a short clip on social media which showed he has returned to the UK.

Pellistri records to clip to show how he was greeted by snow at Manchester Airport.

The 20-year-old will hope he did enough to impress Erik ten Hag with his performances during the World Cup, however, I still think the manager will want to send him on loan in January.

By returning to Carrington early, Pellistri has a chance to put himself in contention to face Burnley in the League Cup next week. That will be United’s first game back since taking a break for the World Cup.

Manchester United have two players still involved at the World Cup, including Lisandro Martinez (Argentina) and Raphael Varane (France). They will both miss the cup tie against Burnley.

Let us know in the comments section if you think Pellistri will get some minutes in the Carabao Cup?
