It is no secret that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a popular choice to takeover Manchester United. A lot of fans, especially on social media, seem to believe he would be the answer to our problems.
I won’t be sold until I know his plans for the club. Right now, we only know that he would like to own his boyhood club and there is a chance he could achieve that considering he is one of the richest men in Britain.
The news that United is for sale has put potential investors on high alert and Ratcliffe is no different.
In August, Ratcliffe made it clear via a spokesperson that he was interested in buying Manchester United.
“If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer. If something like this was possible, we would be interested in talking with a view to long-term ownership.
“This is not about the money that has been spent or not spent. Jim is looking at what can be done now and, knowing how important the club is to the city, it feels like the time is right for a reset.”
Now reports claim that Ratcliffe will bid to become the next United owner in the foreseeable future.
