Cristiano Ronaldo statement following Manchester United departure

Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United after reaching a mutual agreement with the club, it has been confirmed this evening.

Manchester United issued a statement on Tuesday evening announcing they had reached a mutual agreement with Ronaldo to terminate his contract.

Ronaldo made his own statement, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News: “Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.

“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.

“I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.”

The development comes a week after Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan, which unsettled the club after he spoke out about the Glazers, not having respect for Erik ten Hag as well as slating other club employees in the process.

Ronaldo made several acquisitions against the club too, which we don’t think went down too well with the hierarchy. He said he felt betrayed by United and that the club doubted him over his sick daughter when he missed pre-season.

His homecoming was met with such excitement, but the end comes like swallowing a bitter pill. I’m just happy Ronaldo has gone and Erik ten Hag can focus on winning football matches, without having a big distraction in the background. It’s best both parties go their separate ways because there is no point having an unhappy player who will only bring other players down with him.

It remains to be seen where Ronaldo will end up next but that isn’t any of our concern as it’s time for United to move on.
