Manchester United come from behind to end Arsenal’s unbeaten run in WSL

A stoppage-time winner from Alessia Russo from a Katie Zelem set piece saw Manchester United snatch all three points in a WSL win that brought an end to Arsenal’s long unbeaten run, just like Erik ten Hag’s side did in the Premier League.

Marc Skinner’s side took the lead just before the break, courtesy of a tap-in from Ella Toone. It was probably the easiest goal she’ll ever score, slotting the ball into an empty net after a howler from the Arsenal goalkeeper, but we’ll take it nonetheless.

It didn’t long for Arsenal to strike back after the break, as Frida Maanum scored an equaliser for the hosts. Her effort glided past Mary Earps following a deflection off Maya Le Tissier. With 20 minutes to go, Arsenal took the lead the make it 2-1 after a finish from Laura Wienroither.

Arsenal thought they were en route to another three points in the league, but thankfully, a free-kick from Katie Zelem was headed home by Millie Turner. Then a stoppage-time winner followed from Alessia Russo at the very end.
