Ten Hag and United players extremely disappointed by Ronaldo interview

We will soon see the Cristiano Ronaldo interview in full, along with the inevitable reaction. I guess I am most interested in what Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand have to say since they’ve both defended his appalling behaviour this season.

Ronaldo made matters worse for himself tonight when Piers Morgan teased a new exclusive interview with the Portuguese veteran. He stressed that he felt betrayed at Old Trafford, hit out at former United team-mate Wayne Rooney, and suggested that Ralf Rangnick was never the right man to manage at this level.

The interview has been described as explosive but it won’t be fully released until Thursday. It is likely to attract a lot of media attention to Talk TV, who are hosting the interview by Piers Morgan.

However, Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has an early inside scoop from the United squad. He claims that Eriik ten Hag and his players are “extremely disappointed” with the manner and timing of the interview.

On top of that, Solhekol claims the club only found out about the interview as they prepared to fly back from London after beating Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

The journalist adds that United are likely to consider all options regarding Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has certainly disrespected the club again – and I think we’ve reached a point where it would be best for him to leave the club in January. He was told on Thursday that he would not be in the starting XI against Fulham, which is when he reported ill.

There’s also a line – presumably from the club – that they never disrespected him.

Surely there is no way back for him now?

  1. The washed out ego footballer breaks bread with the repulsive ego – former Murdoch lapdog and the media report it. Says it all really.

  2. It is sad, Christiano Ronaldo is gradually destroying his legendary status at Manchester United. This is what over ambition and selfishness can do to a man. Cantona, Solsjaer, Beckham, Chalton, Giggs, Rooney, Evra, Scholes, Ferfdinand, Hargreaves, Nevile and a host of others who played for United in the past can always visit and receive applause from the fans.
No doubts, Ronaldo has contributed so much in this club but the question is, after his playing career which will surely happen one day, can he still come and be welcomed by fans?

    1. Ronaldo spoke his mind. The club clearly made him the scapegoat to all of their problems and he had enough!!…this has been a really bad year for him and its time he leaves so that all can see the clubs weaknesses.

  3. It is unfortunate that Ronaldo will be behaving the way he is doing now Has man u fc not been fair to him The is no Even if he were selected to play against Fulham we would have lost the match Ronaldo has overstayed his welcome as far as football is concerned May he not be allowed to stay beyond January period

  4. i think utd must take a very strong stance on renaldo after all uts made the player he was loved by all but now fame and wealth has gone to his head and he thinks he is better than utd utd should do what arsnel did to their star player and get rid of him he has left the club down badly i for one would not welcome him back to old trafford again good luck

  5. Ronaldo’s camp lacks wise counsel. Even a well cultured baby would have desisted from biting the feeding hand, let alone soiling own blankets. An outright apology is needed from Ronaldo himself and his entire camp. The message, the timimg and the insestivity to the readership as well as the united constituency leave much to be desired. Damage control is awaited.

  6. I’m saddened by what’s recently transpired at my beloved MANU FC.
Ronaldo is no doubt a special player who should be treated in a special way i.e. not like any rank&file professional footballer who misbehaves.
He is WRONG to air his grievances in public but it does not give anybody the right to slander a guy who’s given so much to football over such a long period of time.
I know that those at the helm at MANU FC will treat the current situation with utmost care because we are MANU after all is said and done.
I suggest that we treat this debacle as a once-off big blunder made by Ronaldo and release him in January so that he pursues the last days of his glittering career at a club where he finds acceptance and enjoys peace.
