Milan Skriniar set for Inter extension amid Manchester United links

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar set to sign four-year deal, therefore, snubbing potential interest from the Premier League.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United have discovered the likelihood of them being able to lure Milan Skriniar away from the San Siro.

And I am afraid to report it’s not good news because the centre-back looks set to sign a four-year deal with Inter Milan.

Manchester United were reportedly keen on signing the defender but he will instead commit his long-term future to the Serie A giants.

Inter are unlikely to challenge for the league title this season but they sit fourth and will be looking to finish the season strongly. Losing Skiniar midway through the campaign would have been a blow, but his current deal is set to expire in the summer.

United should definitely sign a new centre-back in the summer because we are far too over-reliant on Varane, who is injury prone, and I don’t think there are many fans that feel comfortable with the idea of Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof starting games.

One thing looks certain and it is that Skriniar won’t be signing for United anytime in the near future.

I don’t think there was ever a point that a transfer looked likely because United would have any shown interest had he become available in the market.

Let us know in the comments section if you think there are any centre-backs out there we should be looking at.
