Manchester City convinced they are best-placed to sign Jude Bellingham

Manchester City are convinced they will win the race to sign Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham this summer.

The England international has been linked with several of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Manchester United, with the media suggesting his time at Dortmund could come to an end next summer.

It sounds like there will be a rush to seal Bellingham’s signature, granted Dortmund don’t price him out of a move in the summer and reports claim Liverpool are among those most keen on the 19-year-old ace, as per Liverpool Echo.

According to The Sun, Dortmund want over £130m for Bellingham — yet the same report states that the true price could be nearly £50m less once it is paid in one go. Apparently that makes City best-placed to sign him.

The only way I can see him justifying such a transfer fee next summer is if he has a big World Cup in Qatar for England. Otherwise, I think he is being overpriced at €130m, but you always pay a premium for the best talents.

However, anything under €80m would be worth considering.

Bellingham would be reunited with Erling Haaland if he decides to join City.
