Anthony Elanga surprised Leeds United fan received suspension for throwing coin

Anthony Elanga was surprised by the news that a Leeds United supporter has been suspended for throwing an object at him.

The shocking incident took place last season during a goal celebration. Elanga, 20, was left lying on the grass after being struck by a coin and it was by no means an accident.

It was a cowardly attempt to be the big man at football when the guilty party only made a complete fool of himself.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claims he has been suspended indefinitely.

When the media met ahead of Sweden’s upcoming internationals, Elanga said he barely remembers what happened.

“Oh, is that so? It’s the first time I’ve heard it now,” Elanga told reporters, as quoted by Aftonbladet.

“It is good. Now they have set an example so no more fans will do the same.”

Sweden have two games coming up during the international break against Serbia and Slovenia. United will have two players representing Sweden, with Victor Lindelof set to return from injury to captain the side.

They won’t be going to the World Cup later this year after failing to qualify. Elanga will be in the hunt for more international caps.
