Fabrizio Romano drops ‘here we go’ message as United close in on Antony deal

Antony to Manchester United is on the verge of happening – if you believe Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer guru tweeted his favourite catchphrase ‘here we go’ to report an agreement has been reached in principle with Ajax.

Antony will sign a contract until June 2027 with the option of a further year – and Romano claims the paperwork will be signed tomorrow.

The Brazil international is set to arrive in Manchester next week.

Shreuder accepts Ajax will lose Antony

Moreover, Ajax manager Alfred Shreuder has spoken out about recent reports suggesting Antony is on the verge of joining Manchester United in a €100m deal.

Antony could become the most expensive player to come from the Eredivisie if such a deal is completed between now and deadline day (Thursday).

After targeting the Brazil international summer, it’s clear that Erik ten Hag made his former Ajax winger a priority target, so it will be great if we can get the ball over the line.

Speaking earlier today, Shreuder said (as quoted by Romano): “Everything is about money… I think this is sad. But this is our world, it’s very sad and I don’t approve that these things at all.”

This is an exciting signing, and I can wait to see the spark he will bring to United’s attack in the season ahead. It’s just a shame that it took so long to get a deal over the line.
