Cristiano Ronaldo set for showdown talks with Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo is due to fly into England for talks with Manchester United.

According to The Sun, Ronaldo will tell United he wants to quit immediately, which means the club will have to seek an attack of some sort before the transfer deadline. They’ve been linked with a 19-year-old at RB Salzburg as options run out in the transfer window.

In an update published by Spanish newspaper Marca it is suggested Ronaldo will return to training, but he still wants to leave.

Although Anthony Martial has impressed on tour, scoring 3 goals in 4 games, the Frenchman cannot be relied on as our only goalscorer for the upcoming season. We can’t forget that a few weeks ago a lot of thought he’d be sold by Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo missed the pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia due to a personal issue – but he has yet to report to training.

It is believed that Ronaldo doesn’t want to spend a year out of Champions League after being part of United’s team that failed to qualify last season.

He has never played in the Europa League before.

The report states that Ronaldo has been based in Lisbon for the past few weeks. It remains to be seen if he will be in the squad to face Atletico Madrid or Rayo Vallecano this weekend.
