Kyle Walker-Peters has list of potential suitors including Manchester United

Manchester United could be set for another transfer battle with Arsenal this summer when it comes to Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters. It is understood that Erik ten Hag wants two more defensive recruits after signing Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.

The Dutch left-back remains our only signing this summer but at least Richard Arnold and John Murtough are Barcelona bound to try speed up the process as United push to sign Frenkie de Jong.

Walker-Peters would give United something different on the right flank and I still find it hard to trust either Diogo Dalot or Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Neither are well rounded enough to be considered modern full-backs, unlike our newest arrival.

The Athletic suggests United and Arsenal – whom are both in the running to sign Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez – also have Walker-Peters firmly on their radar, however, his former club Tottenham Hotspur have a £30 million buy-back option in place.

The report states: “Although the 25-year-old is contracted until 2025 and the St Mary’s hierarchy are not actively seeking to trade him, there has been no progress in relation to a fresh deal and he has suitors.”

I think it goes without saying that Walker-Peters would be an upgrade on both Dalot and Wan-Bissaka.

Anyhow, let us know in the comments section if you would approve of a move for Southampton right-back Walker-Peters?
