Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign Feyenoord defender Tyler Malacia.
According to BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone, it is looking likely that the left-back will become Erik ten Hag’s first signing as United manager.
There were issues over representation, but a deal is expected to be concluded in the coming days.
Stone tweeted: “Looking more like Tyrell Malacia will become Erik Ten Hag’s first signing as Man Utd boss. Issues over representation sorted. Transfer likely to be completed in coming days. De Jong negotiations continue. Team leave for Bangkok on 8 July.”

United are believed to have pushed Lyon out of the race to sign the 22-year-old Netherlands international, with Feyenoord likely to get a sell-on clause in their favour.
With age on his side, Malacia will be initially expected to come in and offer competition for Luke Shaw. If the England international fails to react to that – by kicking on and improving his game – we will have a younger alternative waiting for his chance.
There’s no denying that a transfer like this will have Shaw looking over his shoulder (in a good way!). He clearly feels too comfortable with Alex Telles happy to play second fiddle at Old Trafford.
