Manchester United agree personal terms with Tyrell Malacia

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Tyrell Malacia over personal terms.

According to Fabrizio Romano, who tweeted his favourite ‘here we go’ catchphrase, the 22-year-old Netherlands international is waiting to sign his contract.

The deal is expected to exceed €15m upfront with an additional €2m to be paid in bonuses.

This means Malacia will become the first signing of the Erik ten Hag era and we hope it’s a successful one – on both counts. I have already written about how Feyenoord’s starlet could come to our aid next season, especially if Luke Shaw has another underwhelming campaign.

It looks like fellow Netherlands international Frenkie de Jong could follow Malacia to United, but that deal is taking a long time to conclude, and we are edging closer to the pre-season tour.

Should Alex Telles depart the club this summer and we manage to secure a deal for Malacia, at least the future at left-back would look less bleak.

Either way, it will be exciting to see how a new left-back pushes Shaw for a place in the team.
