Crystal Palace join race to sign Manchester United midfielder

Earlier this week, it emerged that Andreas Pereira had caught the interest of newly-promoted Fulham, who had reportedly identified United’s outcast midfielder as a summer target.

Pereira is currently on loan at Flamengo and will make his final appearance for the club this week before returning to United for pre-season preparations.

According to reports, Fulham had agreed a fee with United over his sale and were allowed to discuss personal terms with the midfielder’s entourage.

Now, there could be a twist in the tale as another London club have joined the race to sign the 26-year-old. That’s according to Brazilian publication FogaoNET, who say that Crystal Palace are interested in Pereira.

It’s also claimed that Pereira, who has just one year remaining on his deal at United, could join Lyon if Lucas Paqueta departs.

Pereira is unlikely to challenge United’s senior midfielders this summer, with Erik ten Hag already making it clear that he would like to strengthen that area.

Frenkie de Jong, the Barcelona midfielder, has emerged as the number one target to bolster that department and an agreement between the two clubs is edging closer.

  1. Pereaira is a decent player and worth keeping.they should’ve played him more Instead of fred or mactominay.who are both not united standard.mactominay never had the pace or skill or a killer pass in him.he would have been better in a back4.and fred isn’t consistent enough and a lot of his passes were abysmal at times.better days ahead I hope.with plenty of new signings,5 at least.worst team I’ve seen since the70,s.ole was a bad choice and it went worse frm then.think ETH wil do a good job.
