United insider claims Facundo Pellistri has loan offers from Serie A

Facundo Pellistri will be eager to impress new manager Erik ten Hag this summer.

The Uruguayan winger needs to give the Dutchman something to think about moving forward because he is in contention for places with Amad Diallo, who is another player that went on loan last season only to spend most of the time sat on the bench or completely out of the Rangers squad.

Pellistri is still somewhat of an unknown quality, although he can now consider himself a regular in the Diego Alonso’s Uruguay side, which shows that he has the manager’s faith on the international stage.

United will be keen to find out why things didn’t work out for Pellistri at Deportivo Alaves.

However, first they must come up with a plan for the coming season – unless Ten Hag decides he’s ready to play Premier League football after assessing him on tour this summer.

According to Jonathan Shrager, various teams in Serie A and Portugal have expressed an interested in loaning Pellistri for the full campaign, but Ten Hag wants to see him in training for pre-season before any decision is made.

Shrager tweeted: Various top-flight Italian and Portuguese clubs have expressed an interested in loaning Pellistri for the upcoming season, but the current idea is for Facundo Pellistri to partake in Manchester United’s pre-season, where he’s eager to play his way into Ten Hag’s plans for his opening campaign.”

Pellistri was signed by United after a tip from former striker Diego Forlan.

For the winger’s sake, let’s hope it won’t be another long season on the bench.
