Report suggests Jurrien Timber could snub Bundesliga giants to follow Ten Hag

There is a lot of speculation around Manchester United right now with Erik ten Hag’s arrival.

The Eredivisie season is over and Ajax were crowned champions. This means Ten Hag can finally put his complete focus on addressing the many issues that exist on the pitch at United.

Ten Hag, 52, will have a number of meetings with United this week, while Ralf Rangnick will stay in charge for the final game of the season against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

A large portion of the speculation around United and Ten Hag comes from the upcoming transfer window. Everyone wants to know who the club will be signing as part of their big rebuild under the Dutchman.

Antony and Jurrien Timber are two Ajax players currently linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, and we now have reports in Germany suggesting that the former could snub Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in order to follow Ten Hag to the Theatre of Dreams.

Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg claims Bayern inquired about the 20-year-old centre-back but it is said that he could join Ten Hag at United.

He adds that talks with his management are underway, with United “seriously interested” in signing Timber as part of Ten Hag’s rebuild.

This would be a very exciting signing for United but Timber is not your typical centre-back, stood at 5ft 10in, but he is extremely versatile and capable to play as a defensive midfielder.
