Former Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes has enjoyed moderate success since leaving the club in 2020. The tricky midfielder was highly rated at Old Trafford but ended up departing on a free transfer roughly two years ago.
Gomes made his debut for the club in 2017, becoming the youngest player to feature for United since Duncan Edwards in 1953. Furthermore, he was also the first player to be born in the 2000s to represent the club.
A contract dispute and failure to guarantee Gomes first-team opportunities ultimately lead to his exit and following an impressive loan spell in Portugal, the midfielder is back at Lille and scored his first league goal earlier this week, as seen below.

The strike was not enough to salvage a draw for the French side against Monaco but Gomes’ qualities were on full display, with his neat dribbling creating enough space to curl the ball into the far corner.
