It was a remarkable finish. The goalkeeper had no chance.
Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t score all that many free-kicks these days, but they are still great goals when the ball manages to dip over the wall and into the back of the net.
The Portuguese star scored a milestone 60th career hat-trick last month in a win over Norwich City.
His free-kick to seal that hat-trick has now won him the goal of the month award at Manchester United for April, after recently picking up the Player of the Month award for consecutive months.
To announce April’s goal of the month, Manchester United’s official Twitter account (@ManUtd) described Ronaldo’s finish as an ‘instant classic’ – but sadly it comes during a season fans will try to forget about.
It was a goal we thought would be a huge in the race for top four…

Hopefully we will see Ronaldo score another free-kick before the season ends!
