Zlatan Ibrahimovic outlines what Anthony Elanga must do to reach the top

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is undoubtedly one of the biggest football stars Sweden has produced.

The Swede’s comments carry weight and we know from his time at Manchester United that not only does he refer to himself in third person which shows his sense of self-worth, but he also implies that there isn’t another footballer on his level.

I really enjoyed having Ibrahimovic at United between 2016 and 2018, but there will always be a part of me that wishes he signed earlier in his career.

However, at least with Anthony Elanga, we’ve got a Swedish goalscorer ready to blossom right at the beginning of his career.

The United starlet received his maiden call-up to the senior Sweden side this month for their World Cup qualifying play-offs against the Czech Republic.

Ibrahimovic has spoken about Elanga and what he needs to do to reach the top.

“He’s [Elanga] a great talent, we are proud and happy that he comes from Sweden,” Ibrahimovic told SVT Sport.

“That he can represent Sweden now makes it even bigger. He has all the future ahead of him, and if he continues just as he has done, it looks impressive. It’s just fighting, never being content, striving for more. How much he can develop depends on him.”

Ibrahimovic is part of the Sweden squad so it will be great opportunity for Elanga to link up with one of his icons.
