Boost for Manchester United as star returns to training ahead of Southampton clash

Alex Telles has returned to first-team training ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Southampton in the Premier League.

Telles was absent from the trip to Turf Moor along with fellow Brazilian, Fred, after the pair tested positive for COVID-19 upon returning from international duty.

The left-back also missed the penalty shoot-out defeat against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.

However, pictures have emerged on social media today showing Telles has returned to Carrington for training.

Paul Pogba posted a picture of the pair on Instagram to give fans a timely boost ahead of the game.

He captioned his post: “Ayyye irmao [brother]”

This comes as a boost for United because it gives Ralf Rangnick more options.

Telles has got plenty of football under Rangnick and it’s clear that he rates the Brazilian.

Luke Shaw has been doing okay, but it would not surprise me if Telles came back into the starting line-up soon.
