Manchester United have not ruled out the possibility of allowing defender Eric Bailly to leave before Monday’s transfer deadline day.

That’s according to a recent report from the Mirror, who claims the Ivorian defender could depart if teammate Phil Jones remains with the club.

Similarly to Jones, Bailly, 27, has also been a fringe player in the United squad.

After struggling to force the likes of Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and now Raphael Varane out of Ralf Rangnick’s first team, the 27-year-old has started in just three Premier League matches, so far this season.

Despite having a contract that is set to run until 2024, Bailly’s long-term United future has been up in the air for quite some time.

Although it is unlikely that the Ivorian centre-back will end up leaving the club before end of play on Monday, there is still a small chance if other chain of events happen.

When it comes to Jones – Stretty News understands that the English defender has not ruled out securing a late move, but would prefer to remain in England.

The chances of seeing the United veteran depart on Monday have been described to us by a close club source as “Slim, but possible.”
