Manchester United are back in action on Sunday as they welcome bitter rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford. Jurgen Klopp’s side are in sparkling form ahead of the encounter, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side currently on a three-game winless run in the league.
The dramatic victory over Atalanta in the Champions League was a boost to team morale but another stern test awaits the side, with three vital points firmly on the line as both sides are chasing Premier League leaders Chelsea.
The win over Atalanta did, however, throw some doubt on Solskjaer’s team for Sunday, with Fred and Bruno Fernandes now said to be doubts for the 90-minute affair. Their absence would be a huge blow for Manchester United as they are both mainstays in Solskjaer’s team.
Fernandes, who is the joint-top assister in the Champions League this season with four, has yet to miss a game through injury since he signed for the club in January 2020.

Fred’s impressive performance against Atalanta could’ve kickstarted his season but instead, he could face watching the game against Liverpool from the sidelines.
Should the Brazil international not be available for the game, Solskjaer could opt to play a three-at-the-back formation in a bid to stop Liverpool’s gazing attack.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): De Gea; Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Matic, Pogba, Telles; Ronaldo, Rashford
