Confirmed Manchester United XI vs Atalanta: Rashford starts

The Champions League has returned with Manchester United set to host Atalanta. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named his starting XI to face our Italian opponents tonight.

Manchester United current sit third in Group F following a defeat against Young Boys in the opening match and a win over Villarreal last time out.

Having missed the weekend’s action, as United lost 4-2 against Leicester City, Edinson Cavani has rejoined the squad for the pivotal European clash.

Check out the full team below: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford, Ronaldo.

It comes as no surprise that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has went with his preferred back four – excluding Raphael Varane due to injury – and midfield, which consists of a Scott McTominay and Fred double pivot.

There is no room for Paul Pogba but at least the Frenchman was named on the bench – along with Edinson Cavani, Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard.

So there’s a lot of attacking threat from the bench, but what about the starting XI?

We will see Cristiano Ronaldo lead the line with Mason Greenwood on the right and Marcus Rashford on the left.
