(Video) Mason Greenwood scores late winner v Wolves

Manchester United are in action again as they face Wolves at Molineux before the first international break of the season. Headlines ahead of the encounter were, however, not about the game itself.

Earlier this week, the club announced it has reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, with completion of the deal subject to personal terms, visa, and medical.

Thus, all eyes were on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as they try to get back to winning ways after a disappointing draw against Southampton last week.

Wolves started the game as the better team and often looked like scoring the opening goal. The two sides went into half-time all even, despite the home team dominating proceedings.

Wolves, with the backing of their home crowd, started well after the interval again and almost scored – David de Gea made two incredible saves to deny Bruno Lage’s side.

Mason Greenwood, who has started the season in dazzling form, continued his fantastic spell by scoring in the 80th minute. Raphael Varane is credited with the assist after a near-flawless performance.

There was some controversy attached to the goal, as Wolves were insistent on VAR overturning it. Ruben Neves felt he was fouled but the goal stood.
