Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells star he is staying at Man Utd despite interest from elsewhere

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Daniel James he will be staying at Manchester United this summer despite interest from other clubs, according to reports.

The young winger has been a rotational option for the Norwegian boss since the start of last season and has often struggled to break into the starting team but will be staying put at Old Trafford.

According to The Athletic, the former Swansea player was told by Solskjaer a fortnight ago that he would not be granted an exit from the club this summer. James is believed to have been told he’s ‘fully’ in Solskjaer’s plans this season.

It’s reported that Leeds United have kept their eyes on James following a failed move for the winger in 2019, whilst Brighton are also believed to have been monitoring the Welshman.

Leicester City made a ‘tentative enquiry’ for James this summer with James’ versatility on both flanks though to be appealing to former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
