Having already signed Tom Heaton and Jadon Sancho, with Raphael Varane due in Manchester imminently to complete his transfer from Real Madrid, it appears that Manchester United will need to sell in order to add to their squad further.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already has a bloated squad on his hands with fringe players such as Andreas Pereira and Phil Jones seemingly not in the manager’s plans for the upcoming season.

Manchester United are said to be in the hunt for a midfielder this summer but further signings are dependant on players leaving the club, according to The Athletic.

It’s also claimed that although Eduardo Camavinga represents the most realistic opportunity should they sign one, the likeliest outcome is that no midfielder walks through the door at the club.

There also appears to be little progress made on moving on players, with the work on the sales department of the club said to be ‘slow’.
