Video: Ray Parlour tips Lingard to make big impression after Manchester United return

Jesse Lingard has been tipped to resurrect his career at Manchester United.

The English midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham and has returned completely rejuvenated after impressing and leading the Hammers to European qualification.

Lingard performed so well for West Ham that I felt he was unlucky to miss out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2020.

However, after seeing how the Three Lions lost the final against Italy, ignoring some of their best attacking players who were sat on the bench throughout, I think Lingard was better enjoying a summer off.

Former England and Arsenal defender, Ray Parlour, thinks Lingard is ready to make his mark again at Old Trafford. He told talkSPORT: “Lingard has got a chance to stamp his authority and be a big part of challenging.”

Agree with Parlour? I would be surprised if Lingard was at United at the beginning of the season – even though he could offer us something different on the left, with Marcus Rashford likely to miss the first month of the campaign due to a pending operation.
